Requests
Discover and request media for your library — for the person running Huntarr, not for other users.
Requests is for you, the person running Huntarr. It is not intended for friends, family, or other end users. Use it to browse and request movies and shows for your own library.
What is Requests?
- Requests is Huntarr's built-in media request system
- You can browse trending/popular media and submit requests for your library
- Requests are processed by Movie Hunt or your connected *arr apps
- No separate request service needed (like Overseerr or Petio)
Features
- Discover: Browse trending, popular, and new releases
- Search: Find specific movies or shows by title
- Request: One-click requests with automatic processing
- Status tracking: See if requested media has been downloaded
- Integration: Works with Movie Hunt, Sonarr, and Radarr
How It Works
- Open the Requests section in Huntarr
- Browse or search for desired media
- Click "Request" to submit
- Huntarr processes the request:
- For movies: Sent to Movie Hunt or Radarr
- For TV shows: Sent to Sonarr
- Media is automatically searched and downloaded
- You can see the status update in your request history
Configuration
Settings are managed in Settings > Requests:
Settings Table
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Enabled | Turn Requests on/off |
| Default Root Folder | Where requested media is stored |
| Default Quality Profile | Quality profile for requested media |
| Auto-Approve | Automatically approve all requests (vs. manual approval) |
| TMDb Language | Language for movie/show metadata |
Tips
- Enable auto-approve if you want requests to be processed immediately
- Set appropriate quality profiles to manage disk space
- Requests uses TMDb for metadata — no API key needed
- Requested items appear in Movie Hunt's library once processed
Requests currently focuses on movie requests. TV show requests route through your Sonarr instance if connected.
